Objective: to analyze the epidemiological profile of pancreatic cancer cases in the last 9 years in the Northeast region of Brazil in the population over 30 years old. Methods: it is an observational, cross-sectional, and retrospective study based on data provided by the DATASUS digital platform – SUS Hospital Information System (SIH/SUS) of the Ministry of Health. Results: regarding hospitalizations and deaths due to pancreatic cancer, it was possible to observe a total of 19,850 and 4,487, respectively. In both variables, the most prevalent age group was 60 to 69, with a slight predominance of females. As for the mortality rate, it was higher in the 80-year-old or more age group, and males had a slightly higher percentage. Conclusion: in summary, this study contributes to the understanding of the epidemiological characteristics of pancreatic cancer in Northeast Brazil, providing important information to guide public health policies, prevention, and treatment strategies.
