Objective: to describe the profile of suicide mortality in the states of the Northern Region of Brazil and analyze the temporal trend from 2018 to 2022. Methods: this is a descriptive and retrospective study, with secondary data from the Northern Region from the Mortality Monitoring Panel of the Department of Analysis and Surveillance of Non-Communicable Diseases in Health of the Secretariat of Health Surveillance of the Ministry of Health. Results: the temporal analysis of suicide mortality rates revealed continuous growth over the period studied, with the highest rate in 2022 (7.13). In 2021, the state of Roraima recorded the highest suicide mortality rate for the period, at 10.53. Tocantins, on the other hand, had the highest average mortality rate over the five years analyzed, with a value of 9. The most common profile of the victims was male, aged between 20 and 39, predominantly of parda color/race. Conclusions: expanding the coverage of the Psychosocial Care Network in the states of the Northern Region is essential to strengthening mental health care, especially in primary care. This support must be accessible and multidisciplinary, ensuring greater effectiveness in suicide prevention.
