Gastrointestinal schwannomas are rare mesenchymal tumors of the colon and are generally benign. Pre-surgical diagnosis is challenging, as the lesions are often asymptomatic and present with non-specific findings on imaging tests. The standard treatment is surgical resection, with a favorable prognosis. We report the case of a 39-year-old woman with pelvic abdominal pain and a colonoscopic finding of a 30 mm extramucosal nodular lesion in the transverse colon. After an extended right colectomy, pathological examination confirmed schwannoma with diffuse S100 expression. The patient recovered well and was discharged on the third postoperative day
