Importância do Contato Precoce Mãe-Filho e sua Contribuição para o Sucesso do Aleitamento Materno

INTRODUÇÃO: O contato precoce com o bebê, na sala de parto, tem sido recomendado pelo Ministério da Saúde como forma de fortalecer o vínculo afetivo entre mãe e filho e incentivar o aleitamento materno. OBJETIVOS: Conhecer os sentimentos maternos diante do contato precoce com o bebê e a importância deste contato para o sucesso do aleitamento materno. MÉTODOS: Foram realizadas entrevistas individuais com 12 mulheres que tiveram filhos de parto normal e mantiveram contato precoce com o bebê na sala de parto. As entrevistas foram gravadas para a realização da análise de conteúdo, com definição de duas categorias dessa análise: Sentimentos da mãe no momento do primeiro contato com o bebê e orientação do profissional de saúde sobre o aleitamento materno após o parto. RESULTADOS: A idade média das pessoas entrevistadas foi de 22 anos, e a renda média foi menor que um salário mínimo. Pôde-se perceber que todas as mães relataram momentos de prazer e satisfação ao vivenciar o contato com o bebê ainda na sala de parto, sugerindo que todas as mulheres deveriam passar por essa experiência. Observou-se que poucos profissionais as orientaram sobre amamentação ainda na sala de parto, algo que ocorre com maior freqüência no alojamento conjunto. CONCLUSÕES: Percebe-se que o contato precoce é considerado como uma experiência positiva a todas as mulheres. Suporte e apoio para a amamentação deve ser uma rotina a ser realizada por todos os profissionais de saúde na sala de parto, desde o pré-natal até as consultas de puericultura.
