A deposição de peptídeo beta-amiloide e as alterações vasculares presentes na doença de Alzheimer

A doença de Alzheimer é uma doença neurodegenerativa provavelmente causada pelo acúmulo de peptídeo beta-amiloide no cérebro. O estudo atual visa buscar na literatura uma revisão sobre o acúmulo de peptídeo beta-amiloide no parênquima cerebral, como sendo uma das prováveis causas do surgimento da doença de Alzheimer. Os artigos científicos pesquisados para a realização deste artigo de revisão foram encontrados em vários bancos de dados online, utilizando os seguintes descritores em português e inglês: Doença de Alzheimer, Peptídeos Beta-amiloide e Endotélio Vascular. Apesar de vários estudos sobre o assunto, os mecanismos de formação e degradação do peptídeo beta-amiloide e o fator causador da doença ainda não são completamente conhecidos, necessitando assim de mais estudos e maiores investimentos na área de pesquisa, para que no futuro se possa descobrir como prevenir e até mesmo curar a doença de Alzheimer.
