This paper reports on an educational initiative on salt replacement strategies developed with workers at a Family Health Unit. Initially, the students involved in the activity received training from a nutritionist professor from the Nutrition program at the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia, followed by a practical field session. The program included a lecture on the health impacts of sodium, followed by a hands-on herbal salt production session, during which participants could choose their preferred ingredients. The activity lasted one hour and used the following materials: dried herbs and plants, salt, and disposable materials. Fourteen workers participated in the activity. During the lecture, they expressed interest in understanding the relationship between excessive sodium intake and the development of NCDs and ways to reduce this consumption. Throughout the activity, the facilitators encouraged participation and interaction, which revealed that the workshop provided a learning experience and achieved its intended objective. The reported experience highlighted the relevance of educational actions in health as a tool for promoting quality of life and preventing NCDs
