Abstract

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is responsible for functions such as mastication, speech, and breathing, and may present disorders, including mandibular dislocation. This study aims to report a case of recurrent dislocation treated with eminectomy associated with bilateral discopexy. A 42-year-old male patient presented with inability to close the mouth after facial trauma, with a history of previous episodes. Computed tomography showed condylar displacement and degenerative changes. Due to recurrence, surgical treatment was performed. Postoperatively, the patient demonstrated functional improvement, absence of recurrence, and good mouth opening. The surgical approach proved effective in resolving the condition.
