Abstract

Considering the relevance of the self-service wholesaler segment for the supermarket sector, this case discusses the factors of planning and execution of the movement of products stored on the shelves in the sales area of self-service wholesalers, focusing mainly on the impact generated by the closing of the aisles. From a didactic point of view, the case intends to promote interdisciplinarity, suggesting the integration of curricular units such as Inventory Management, Marketing, and Sales contributing to the development of a critical vision and business thinking by the students. In this way, both practical suggestions to wholesalers related to the dynamism and efficiency of the replenishment of merchandise, as well as a wide scope of discussions for the students, form the deliverables of this study.
