PUBLIC MANAGEMENT AND INCLUSION OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES IN TEIXEIRA DE FREITAS – BAHIA

This research dealt with Public Management from the perspective of the insertion of people with disabilities in the community of Teixeira de Freitas, Bahia, in the year 2022, based on the assumptions of the Federal Constitution of 1988, whose general objective sought to identify how the public management of the municipality of Teixeira de Freitas – Bahia promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in the community based on the assumptions of the Federal Constitution and the Organic Law of the researched city. As a methodology, 11 subjects were surveyed by sample, which corresponded to the number of respondents with disabilities belonging to the GRUDE TDF, Group of people with disabilities in Teixeira de Freitas, the sample being by accessibility. In this sense, the main result was that the interviewees said they had difficulties in locomotion in the streets of Teixeira de Freitas and pointed to a deficiency in accessibility to leisure places and concerning the adequacy of public transport. In addition, it was possible to identify the absence of incentives for the inclusion of people with disabilities in the city where it is in the Organic Law of the municipality of Teixeira de Freitas, since only two items correspond, in a very comprehensive way, on the rights of the person with deficiency. Thus, by conclusions, this study identified the difficulties faced by people with disabilities in the city in question; however, a discrepancy between the theory and practice of the laws was seen.
