This research investigates the economic-financial impacts of wind energy generation projects for the micro-region of Serra de Santana/RN. It is descriptive research of an applied nature. As a data collection technique, a literature review and documentary research on official websites and databases were used. Data on the ISSQN collection of each municipality were collected from the website of the Brazilian Public Sector Accounting and Fiscal Information Systems - Siconfi and the number of active formal jobs for each year on the website of the Annual Social Information List - RAIS. Data collection on municipal public investments used the Firjan Fiscal Management Index - IFGF. It was identified that variations in ISSQN collection and the number of active formal jobs had a positive impact on municipalities, however, temporarily and insufficiently to change the economic-financial dynamics of the region. No changes were identified in the performance of municipal public investments, nor were payments required for environmental compensation from the projects in return. From the analysis carried out, it was possible to observe that there were variations in the collection of ISSQN and in the number of active formal jobs that benefited the municipalities of Serra de Santana in different intensities but temporarily and insufficiently to change the economic-financial dynamics of the region of significant about the aspects discussed here. Lagoa Nova was the only municipality to maintain its revenue levels above those practiced before the arrival of the projects.
