Política de Integridade

INTEGRITY POLICY

1. General Principles

The Journal Gestão em Análise e Tecnologias – ReGeA adopts scientific integrity standards aligned with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), and international best practices, ensuring rigor, ethics, transparency, and academic responsibility.

2. Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must ensure the originality of the manuscript; avoid plagiarism, self-plagiarism, and improper appropriation of ideas; declare conflicts of interest; ensure the accuracy of data; and correct any errors identified after publication.

3. Responsibilities of Editors

Editors ensure the ethical conduct of the editorial process, the confidentiality of manuscripts, consistent technical evaluation, and the adoption of COPE recommendations in cases of misconduct or the need for retraction.

4. Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers must provide technical, ethical, constructive, and impartial assessments; maintain confidentiality regarding the evaluated content; declare conflicts of interest; and inform the editors of any evidence of misconduct or irregularities.

5. Similarity, Plagiarism, and Self-Plagiarism Verification

The verification of originality and textual integrity is an essential stage of the editorial process and is conducted with rigor, transparency, and proper justification, in accordance with COPE recommendations, available at: https://publicationethics.org

ReGeA also aligns with good academic integrity practices adopted in the field of Administration in Brazil, particularly those promoted by the National Association of Graduate Studies and Research in Administration (ANPAD), which establish ethical parameters for conducting editorial processes and evaluating manuscripts. Similarity analysis considers not only numerical indicators but also the nature and origin of textual matches, distinguishing between unavoidable passages—such as direct quotations with quotation marks, references, consolidated technical expressions, or standardized methodological descriptions—and situations indicating a lack of authorial contribution. As stated in ANPAD’s Code of Ethics:

“In editorial processes associated with ANPAD, manuscripts presenting high similarity indexes or reproduced passages without proper indication will be rejected or returned to the author for substantial correction.”

In accordance with these guidelines, ReGeA carefully evaluates cases of high or unreferenced similarity and may request substantial revisions, additional clarifications, or, when necessary, proceed with editorial rejection of the manuscript. Recurrence, lack of adequate justification, or suspicion of textual manipulation may result in stricter editorial actions. Responsibility for the originality of the text lies entirely with the authors, who must ensure that the submitted manuscript represents their own contribution, properly supported and referenced.

6. Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools

ReGeA recognizes the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) tools and allows their limited use for auxiliary activities such as linguistic revision and improvement of clarity and textual organization, always in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and national recommendations on scientific integrity. Full responsibility for the content remains with the authors, and the use of AI for the creation of data, nonexistent references, or any element constituting substantive intellectual contribution is prohibited. The use of AI must be declared in a specific section entitled “Declaration of the Use of Artificial Intelligence”, indicating the tool used, its purpose, and the extent of the assistance.

The use of AI to mask plagiarism, produce artificial paraphrases, reconstruct passages from other authors, or generate content that compromises intellectual authorship is prohibited. Evidence of improper or undeclared use may result in requests for clarification, suspension of the editorial process, or rejection of the manuscript, ensuring that emerging technologies do not replace the authorial work that underpins knowledge production.

7. Final Provisions

These Scientific Integrity Policies come into force on the date of their approval and apply to all manuscripts submitted to the Journal Gestão em Análise e Tecnologias – ReGeA, regardless of the stage of the editorial process. Omitted cases will be evaluated by the editorial board in light of COPE recommendations, national scientific integrity guidelines, and international best practices in academic publishing. ReGeA thus reaffirms its institutional commitment to ethics, transparency, and responsibility in the production and dissemination of scientific knowledge.
