RECYCLING PROJECT AS A SPACE FOR REINSERTION OF INDIVIDUALS: THE CASE OF THE ALPHA ASSOCIATION

This study aimed to analyze how a recycling project, as an association of waste pickers, can promote the reintegration of individuals into society. The method was qualitative, descriptive research developed through a single intrinsic case study, and the data were treated through interpretative textual analysis. It was evidenced that the social development project studied, directed to the association of recycling Alfa, has been positively influencing the life of the collectors since it appears as an opportunity for reallocation in society, in which the value obtained with the work has been satisfactory. There is growing individual and collective, as well as receive more support and a more organized structure to develop their activities. As a contribution, it is pointed to a working relationship and projects, and its importance for society is highlighted, being the agents influencing economic and environmental development, the search for spaces of recognition, and social valorization.
