Peer Review process

To guarantee the journal's standard of excellence in quality, the articles submitted to Revista Opinião Jurídica are subjected to a preliminary examination by the Editorial Team, with the help of the Editorial Committee (desk review), to verify the potential for impact, compliance with the lines of research, compatibility between the articles submitted and the journal's profile, general quality control, standardization norms, etc. Once this first phase has been completed, the article is submitted to the system of double-blind review (double-blind review).

Double-blind peer review means that all mention of the authorship of the articles received is suppressed and they are then sent anonymously to specialized PhD reviewers to give their opinion on whether or not they should be published. The names of the reviewers are also not communicated to the authors.

All work evaluated must be strictly confidential. All considerations and judgments during the peer review process must be objective, fair, honest, and impartial, taking into account the strengths and weaknesses of the manuscript. When making their considerations, the reviewers may also suggest relevant works that have not been cited in the work.

The reviewers will recommend that the manuscript be accepted, revised, or rejected in line with the evaluation criteria and comments. In the event of a dispute between the reviewers, the editorial team may choose to reject the manuscript or submit it to a third reviewer.

The Editorial Team reserves the right to decide to reject a manuscript if, in the presence of a single opinion, it considers the reasons for rejection to be eloquent enough. However, for approval, two favorable external opinions are required.

The criteria used in the evaluation form are as follows:

a) Whether the content of the article is innovative and/or implies an addition or advance in the topic covered;

b) A clear problematization of the proposed topic;

c) The title is appropriate to the content of the article;
