Abstract

Currently, financial education has been the subject of reflection and discussion, enhanced in Brazil due to the economic crises and the appeal to consumption experienced in recent decades. This study articulates an analysis of the application of points and conceptions of financial education from the perspective of the pillars of the DSOP methodology (Diagnose, Dream, Budget and Save) with the artisans of the East Coast Craftsman Association of Mato Grosso do Sul (ACLAMS ), located in the municipality of Três Lagoas/MS. We start from the premise that most artisans linked to ACLAMS would need more knowledge related to financial education, especially in aspects that have adherence to the DSOP methodology. To validate this hypothesis, a questionnaire with open and multiple-choice questions was applied to artisans in November 2020. It was found that they have little knowledge of topics related to financial education and personal finance, as well as raising the need for improvement of knowledge and attitudes of artisans regarding financial education.
