O artigo tem por objeto o estudo da concepção de Ciência do Direito de Tércio Sampaio Ferraz Júnior e sua contribuição para a constituição de um modelo de pesquisa científica do Direito que permita o efetivo avanço do conhecimento jurídico. O texto está estruturado de forma a incluir a abordagem do que é considerado ciência para esse autor e do critério de demarcação utilizado para identificar a Ciência Jurídica, a descrição dos modelos de Ciência do Direito por ele trabalhados – as concepções de dogmática analítica, hermenêutica e empírica – e a realização, ao final, a análise da proposta do autor estudado.
